The Rogue and NetHack tournaments are over now. Congratulations to Paul for winning Rogue and Gary for winning NetHack. The server will still be running, and will now be available to the general public for free. If any of your friends would like an account, link them here.

Rogue tournament now underway!

Attention Rogue Club members:

The official Rogue tournament is finally here! It started this morning at 12:01 AM. Next Sunday at 12:01 AM the Rogue tournament will end and the NetHack tournament will begin! Between the two tournaments we're giving away about $40 worth of prizes, so be sure to try your hand! As usual, it's free for Rogue Club members to play. (For others, it costs $2 for both tournaments.)

Rogue Club NetHack Server!

In case you missed the mass e-mailing, or if your e-mail client moved it to the spam folder... the Official Rogue Club NetHack Server is up and running again! (Technically, it's not actually the same server.) Now, instead of just NetHack, it also has Rogue and some old-school text adventure games! At some point I'll be adding some other roguelikes such as Linley's Dungeon Crawl or Ancient Domains of Mystery.

To connect to the server, you'll need a Telnet/SSH program called PuTTY. You can download it here. Type in the IP address 67.149.61.231 and click "Open". Then simply log in and play away!

If you don't have an account and would like one, e-mail me your desired username and I'll set it up for you. I'll make it so that when you log in for the first time, it'll prompt you for a password.

We're planning on having a Rogue tournament, which will start next week. We'll either be using the Rogue Club funds to buy a trophy or we'll be making some kind of prize. Be sure to get some practice in now!

Xmas in June announced!

Rogue Club's first annual Xmas in June celebration has recently been announced. The holiday cheer commences on November 6th at the Benson Basement. Xians and heathens alike are invited to the festivities (members only, or by Elder invite), so get ready for an evening of good cheer, video games, and hipponog or something.

Sohcahtoa High School

My new calculator game, Sohcahtoa High School, will be released this Tuesday! You can read all about it at the official web page! I've decided that half of all profits will go to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina. (The other half will go into the Rogue Club General Fund.)

But Rogue Club members get the game for free... w00t!

Rogue Club party cancelled...

Unfortunately we've decided to cancel (postpone, really), the party that was going to be today, because people keep dropping out at the last minute (i.e. Alex and Nate) and we can't quite get a hold of some people (Kirk and Ben). Plus, some people would have been a little late (Stephen) or not have a ride (Paul). Dang!

Anyway, e-mail Paul or post comments to tell us when you're not busy... hopefully we can find a day that will work.

Xmas in June (in August) party info

Hey, Rogue Club. The Xmas in June party is tomorrow at my house at 3:30. It will probably end anywhere between 7 and 10, depending on when people have to leave and if it gets really boring or something. We're planning on playing a lot of video games, watching the rare Star Wars Holiday Special, and eating some pizza. If you don't know where my house is or how to get there, click here. Also, at the party we might discuss what to do with the Rogue Club funds ($35).

New RC Games Development Center

I've added an area to the RC Games site called the Development Center. This is mainly to aid in the making of games with more than one creator. Right now I have some requests for Project Barry up there. If anyone is good at making music or sprites, your talents could come in handy.

Funds Update

Stephen Q. Burwell, our new treasurer, has counted the Rogue Club funds. We currently have $34.45. w00t! The Elders have not yet decided what to do about the dues that were not collected by the previous treasurer...
